Welcome

Robin web 99 B&W

Welcome to the website of London-based actor and voice-over artist Robin Wells.

Born and raised in south-east London, he started his training at the age of eight with a local youth theatre, where he honed his skills over the course of the next eight years. At the age of eleven, he was cast in the youth theatre’s production of Oliver!. Three years later he had a starring role in their production of Boom!, before landing the lead role of Badger in their production of The Wind In The Willows two years later.  This led to him being selected to join the cast of The Rainbow Fish at the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Around the same time, he developed his musical skills over the course of four years in youth productions of West Side Story and A Chorus Line. He also played Enjolras/Valjean in Les Misérables and Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig in Oh, What A Lovely War!.

Whilst attending Queen Mary, University of London, he got involved with the Queen Mary Theatre Company, and was cast in the role of Monsieur Dudard in a production of Ionesco’s Rhinoceros, as well as performing in an original piece called Role-Played.

During a year spent in Berlin as part of his course, he was cast in leading roles in productions of Family 2.0, The Gas-Mart Amendment and Ugly People.

Upon his return to the UK, he branched out into screen work, starting with producing his own project, a documentary called Coming Out, Going On. He then took his first step into working in front of the camera, appearing in a short-lived web series SICK, which led to him being cast as the lead in a short film called A Mug’s Game.

This didn’t dampen his spirit for theatre, as he was involved in two further original plays with Queen Mary Theatre Company during early 2013 – What’s Your Color?, and Just You, where he played a lead role – before graduating in July with a BA (Hons) German and Drama.

He is currently focussing his efforts on gaining more experience, especially for screen.
